All recipes are available from the day you obtain the cooking method needed. Also, you need to have reasonably well cooked food for recipes to 'work'.

Eric and James can only use 'Cut' and 'Grill'. Claire and Kumiko can use all methods, but you need to find the Flat Stone by diving near the Quarry and then ask any partner about it to unlock 'Stir Fry', and the same for 'Boil' and 'Steam', for which you need the Earthenware, found in the southwest area of the Lake. Both items aren't accessible until you cure Kumiko, and in Kumiko's case you also need to have all partners. Sam Survival Mode can use all methods right away. Only Kumiko and Sam Survival Mode can complete all recipes in a single play, but it is easier with Kumiko since her partners can help her focus on finding the recipes exclusively.

The Pillars by 6. I do not pretend to be an expert in matters relating to Survival Kids or Lost in Blue. I wish I were because these games are amazing. They have much in common with Harvest Moon and yet are very different in other ways. The most fundamental difference is that you can die in Lost in Blue and its predecessors. In Harvest Moon, you are given or buy a derelict farm.

Life is a struggle at the beginning but death never threatens you. In Lost in Blue, you are the victim of a shipwreck and find yourself cast ashore on a desert island.
You discover another survivor. In the first Lost in Blue game, you had to play the boy first and complete the game successfully with him before you could play the girl.
Lost in Blue 2 differs in that you can choose to play either the girl or the boy from the beginning. Furthermore, the girl is not half as helpless as she was in the original game. In the first version of Lost in Blue, when the boy finds the girl initially, he accidentally steps on her eyeglasses and breaks them.
This makes the girl virtually blind. She is unable to go anywhere unless she holds the boy's hand! In Lost in Blue 2, if you play the boy, you actually can send the girl out to forage for firewood and food, something she never could have done in the original. I am writing this guide for the beginner rather than the expert. Games like Lost in Blue and Harvest Moon can be rather daunting to players who are unfamiliar with them.
Sometimes, they can be so difficult that they are not much fun to play. With a basic guide, however, the player can enjoy the game without feeling overwhelmed by it.
The experts may not like a guide with 'spoilers' but for the beginner, a walkthrough that gives some idea about the future provides the player with hope and incentive to continue. There are a number of different successful endings to this game and there is a section that gives details about all possible endings. You basically can choose your ending by allowing the preliminary events for every ending to occur. There are specific requirements for succeeding in each scenario.
Please note that, although this guide is in the form of a walkthrough, there are some events that can be experienced in a different order and items often can be acquired sooner. Some events are predicated upon earlier events, however, and cannot be experienced at an earlier point in the game.
Essentially, your first mission in this game is simply to survive. You have no tools, no form of shelter and no food or water. If you do not find shelter, food and water, you both will die within a day or so.
Fortunately, the problem of shelter is solved rather easily. There is a cave in the face of a rock wall to the north of the beach where you wash ashore.
Water and freshwater fish can be found in a little alcove to the southeast of the cave. Until you find a stick, however, you will be unable to catch any fish. This limits your food supply on the first day to anything you can forage from the ground.
Format of this Guide My Guides tend to follow one of two formats. My Harvest Moon Guides follow one format, giving information in sections that deal with specific aspects of the game, such as farming, mining and fishing, as well as sections that list the items sold at shops and so on.
The other format is that used in my guide for Sims 2 for the DS. That format is more like a Walkthrough, and information about a specific aspect of the game is interspersed with 'Walkthrough' sections. This second format is the one I have followed in this guide. As new aspects of the game are introduced as the plot progresses, I include them in the guide after that section of the Walkthrough.
For this reason, I have divided the Recipes into three separate Sections, giving the easiest Recipes earliest, the intermediate Recipes in a later section and finally giving the Recipes that require the rarest ingredients in a third Section. Each Recipe is given twice, however, as the Picturebook section will give every Recipe in the order in which it appears in the Recipe section of the Picturebook.
For the player who wishes to read every Recipe at once, the Picturebook section will provide access to the complete list. Basic Walkthrough This first walkthrough is from the boy's game. It is easier to play as a boy, and it is suggested that you do so until you have completed the game once. Shipwreck The game begins on the ship. A storm is in progress. You have a choice to take something with you.
Search tabletop Search suitcase Search closet Despite these choices, I never have found anything on the ship. You have to find the girl before you can do anything. Go to the right to find her. You then will be taught how to hold hands. As you walk with her, you will find seaweed on the shore. Pick it up with the stylus or by using the 'A' button.
You can pick up items while holding hands with the girl. Go up the hill and the boy will eat the first mushroom he sees, a rather foolish mistake as it will make him ill.
Go the right to find the water to drink before you do anything else. The boy will discover fish there but you have no means by which to catch anything at this point.
If you are playing the boy, the girl automatically will find the cave now as the boy begins to feel the effects of the bad mushroom. Received Tree Bark and Twigs from??? She is designated as??? The Tree Bark and Twigs have been given to you to allow you to make a fire. You will see only one tool option at this point. Each tool has an icon. The only icon now will be a Fire Starter. Make it.
Choose Twigs and Bark and then press X or use the stylus to hit 'Make' to make the tool. Making your first Fire Once you have the Fire Starter, you can make your first primitive fire. Use the L and R controls to twirl the firestick back and forth. When smoke begins to rise from the bark, you will see a prompt urging you to blow on it. This is your cue to blow into the microphone. There is a gauge to the right of the screen.
When it reaches the top, the fire will be started properly. Build When you build furniture, a different menu will open, displaying icons for each type of furniture that you can build. The 'Build' option only becomes available at specific locations, when the plot advances to a certain point.
As previously stated, the first option that will be unlocked is the ability to build a larger shelf. When this is suggested, you must go to the northeast corner of the Cave in order to build. A long flat rock there will serve as your 'tool bench'.
Other locations where the 'Build' option will exist is when you reach a huge Tree in the Grasslands and one in the field south of Beach 4. When you realise that either of these Trees would make a wonderful place to build a Treehouse, the 'Build' option to make a Treehouse will open whenever you stand in front of the Tree in question.
There is one more item that you will be able to build at specific points in the game. When you emerge from the Swamp on the shore of the Lake for the first time, you will be given the option to build a Raft there.
Later, after you glimpse a Ship from the Lookout Point, you will be given the option to build a second raft on Beach 4. First Day in the Cave When the fire has been started, you will have the option to speak to the girl to discover her name is Amy. Keep speaking to her until you have explored all options. When you ask her what you should do now, she will give you seaweed and coconut. You can use these to cook. The cooking stone is on the left wall of the cave.
If you walk to the back of the cave, you will find a 'Shelf'. Store the firestarter here in order to clear your rucksack. Once you have the option to 'Build', you will be able to make the shelf larger. There are three sizes. The largest shelf will hold 20 items.
The aesthetic quality of the jewelry is not as significant as the fact of giving it to her.
